QUALITY POLICY AND MAIN STANDARD

The Quality policy and Objectives were established by the Company’s management to maintain conformity in accordance with MLC 2006 and national laws. This document is used for effectively communicating the quality policy and objectives throughout the organization. OSLS hereby states that there are no charges to the seafarer for recruitment and placement services offered and that no means, mechanisms, or lists intended to prevent or deter seafarers from gaining employment for which they are qualified. The Company’s organizational goals and expectations are monitored, measured, and analyzed by its management to verify that the processes are implemented effectively.  All costs which the seafarer will be expected to bear in the recruitment and placement process are clearly publicized and communicated to seafarer candidates.

  • We offer crewing service based on the Procedures prescribed under rules 3 & 4 of the Merchant Shipping (Recruiting and Placement of seafarers) Rules, 2005.
  • We commit to comply with the principles of ISO 9001:2008 standard & the quality requirements as laid down in the Quality Management System.
  • We conduct our service in order to reach the Quality Objectives established and reviewed on annual basis.
  • OSLS Ltd. performs intermediary services related to the recruitment, selection and placement of seafarers to work on board vessels owned and/or operated by foreign companies.  We undertake the responsibility for the quality and execution of these services to both job seekers and client companies in accordance with the applicable national and international laws.
  • OSLS Ltd. entire process of providing intermediary services is free of charge and no direct or indirect charge fees to the job seeker or the approved seafarer are allowed. The seaman shall only pay for his/her legal personal documents, for a national seaman’s passport and a passport or similar personal travelling documents.
  • OSLS Ltd. services are transparent and comply with the established standards. Each candidate is provided with a variety of vacancies for them to choose from after successfully passing their interview. We will work closely with the seafarer’s future employers to make sure their requirements are satisfied.
  • OSLS Ltd. provides comprehensive information for Jamaican seafarers, who search for cruise ship jobs, commercial ship jobs and yacht jobs. Everything is explained in a clear manner and include examples, which answer the needs of any seafarer looking for jobs.
  • OSLS Ltd. is committed to serving the candidates while being polite, kind and helpful to anyone, who wishes to use our recruitment and placement services. We listen to candidates’ requests and concerns to satisfy their requirements and keep all data, inquiries and complaints strictly confidential.
  • OSLS Ltd. is committed to respond in writing to each submitted written request/application and/or complaint, regarding unprofessional administration as soon as possible after receiving the relevant documents, except in cases where a more detailed inspection is required.
  • OSLS Ltd. performs its duties with professionalism, not giving subjective opinions, observing the principles of equality and not allowing in any way or form seafarer to be subject of exploitation or pressure by the company’s employees, in connection to the process of personnel boarding their respective vessel.
  • OSLS Ltd. provides equal access to its recruitment and placement services and insists on the equality of each candidate, regardless of their social status, education, sex, age, ethnicity or religion.
  • OSLS Ltd. measures candidate’s satisfaction by asking for their opinion, suggestions, and potential complaints. These can be submitted at one of the company office, and after a comprehensive analysis, we take the necessary actions to improve our services, enrich candidates’ experience and satisfy job seekers.
  • OSLS Ltd. follows the standards and best practices for recruitment and placement agencies established in the sector. 
  • OSLS Ltd. will make sure, as far as practicable, that the ship owner has the means to protect seafarers from being stranded in a foreign port.
